Students from Pajaro Valley High in Watsonville visited Cal Poly’s Computer Science and Software Engineering Department as part of an outreach effort to increase awareness of Cal Poly among high schools across California. Organized by Assistant Professor Rodrigo Canaan, the visit included a campus tour, lunch at the CSSE Tutoring Center and informal Q&A sessions with current students. The guests heard presentations from Student Services and student clubs, gaining a firsthand look at academic life and support systems in the department. “Our two-hour visit was packed with many meaningful and memorable experiences,” wrote PVHS teacher Sarah Blanchette, who praised the variety of student voices and thoughtful planning behind the day.
