Mechanical engineering Professor Eltahry Elghandour, center, leads an Engineering Possibilities in College (EPIC) lab focused on engine dissection and reassembly. The session aims to provide insights into the components of a four-stroke gasoline engine and how they work together to form a functional mechanism. Students disassemble an engine, identify its parts and then reassemble it, emphasizing how the function of one part influences another. EPIC, one of the college’s outreach programs, offers high school students a glimpse into engineering programs and campus life.
