Thank you to all those who filled out the SURP interest survey back in October. Based on the results of that survey, there seemed to be enough interest despite the short summer to support a SURP program, so we’re going to have one! Although there was no clear first choice as to when the faculty SURP applications should be due, February had the highest vote for being the 1st , 2nd , or 3rd choice, so we’re going with that.
Faculty SURP applications will open on Feb. 2 and be due Feb. 17 on InfoReady.
Each CENG faculty member (at both the SLO and Solano campuses) will be allowed to submit an application for 1one unfunded project scoped for one student. Faculty may also submit as many applications for projects they already have funding for (for example, if a faculty member has funding from an external grant, industry partner, start-up funds, another internal grant, etc. and would like to use SURP as a mechanism to recruit students for these projects, they can submit a SURP application).
