Cal Poly students and faculty showcased their research at the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) Annual Conference in Montreal, Canada, from May 18-21.
This year, Cal Poly had a record number of students at the conference, with 15 Mustangs in attendance compared to last year’s 12.

Poster presentations:

- Brennan Chow, advised by Professor Jill Speece, presented “Validation of Advanced Macro Button Toolbar System for Radiologist Report Composition.”
- Olivia McNulty, advised by Professor Jill Speece, presented “Effective and Sustainable Strategies for Federally Qualified Health Centers to Engage Young Adults.”
- Broghan Martin, advised by Professor Jill Speece, presented “MBSE For Knowledge Transfer.”
Each of the oral presentations have papers that will be published in the conference proceedings.
Given the large delegation from Cal Poly, many of the 15 students volunteered at the conference. Their involvement as volunteers enhanced the overall experience of the conference for all attendees and positively impacted Cal Poly’s image. These students assisted in various roles, showcasing their dedication and commitment to the field of industrial engineering.
Students also engaged in networking opportunities, attended various sessions and benefited from the knowledge shared during the conference.
