Mechanical Engineering

Ben Lutz

Mechanical engineering Professor Ben Lutz recently published a research paper in the journal Education Sciences.

The article examines engineers’ learning during the school-to-work transition, with a focus on the contextual factors associated with where, how and with whom new engineers learn on the job.

You can find the article, “Examining the Setting of Significant Learning Events during the Engineering School-to-Work Transition,” here.

Ramanan Sritharan

Mechanical engineering Assistant Professor Ramanan Sritharan presented his work at the Composites and Advanced Materials Expo, the largest, most comprehensive composite and advanced materials event in North America.

Sritharan presented a portion of his Ph.D. work as a technical paper and a poster presentation at the event in Atlanta, Georgia, from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2. The paper was titled “Analytical Modeling of a 3-phase Nanocomposite Cylindrical Unit Cell with Orthotropic Constituents,” and the poster was titled “Influence of the Helical CNTs Reinforcement on Improvement of the Mechanical Properties and Bonding of Composite Laminates and Assemblies.”

You can find Sritharan’s speaker profile for the expo here.
