Professor Ramanan Sritharan’s research students from the mechanical engineering department participated in the SAMPE 2026 Conference held in Seattle, Washington, from April 27-30 and presented one peer-reviewed paper and three posters. This paper originated from Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) 2025 project. The presentations highlight Cal Poly’s commitment to hands-on research and innovation in nanocomposites.

Participating students include:

  • Wyatt Barnes
  • Jacky Liang

Faculty Advisor:

  • Dr. Ramanan Sritharan

Publications:

  • Comparison of Ultrasound-Hot Plate and High-Shear Centrifugal Mixing Techniques for Fabricating CNT-Reinforced Nanocomposite Panels

Posters:

  • “Drop-Weight Test-Based Evaluation of Nanocomposites Reinforced with Carbon Nanotubes of Varying Geometries”
  • “Comparison of Ultrasound-Hot Plate and High-Shear Centrifugal Mixing Techniques for Fabricating CNT-Reinforced Nanocomposite Panels”
  • “Influence of Carbon Nano-Coils on Stress Concentration Behavior in Polymer Nanocomposites”
