Ciao, studenti!
How would you like to spend 15 weeks studying engineering in Rome? Dr. Brian Self is leading a program that explores mechanics in the home of Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo, along with the amazing architecture, art and food that Italy has to offer. You will take ENGR 2211: Introduction to Mechanics, ME2212: Engineering Dynamics, ARCE 2280: History of Structures (for GE credit) and Italian Language and Culture (C1, C2 or C5), earning 13 degree-applicable Cal Poly units. We will also take excursions to Florence, Pisa, Venice and Bologna.
You can find details of the program from this year here. You can also email Dr. Self at bself@calpoly.edu, Dr. Eric Kasper at ekasper@calpoly.edu or Dr. Garrett Hall at gjhall@calpoly.edu for more information. The program will be held in fall 2026 and, depending on interest, there will be a second cohort let by Dr. Kasper in spring 2027. The application deadline is Feb. 1.
Grazie!
