Elevate Your Resume with our new Resume AI Platform—Big Resume
- Career Services recently launched Big Resume, an online platform to help you improve your resume. With Big Resume, you can:
- Upload your resume and receive immediate feedback
- See how well your resume fits Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) for a specific role you are applying to.
- Get suggestions to make your resume stronger and more competitive before applying for jobs/internships or attending career fairs
- Access Big Resume using your Cal Poly email at calpoly.biginterview.com/login (first-time users click on Register). Navigate between Big Resume and Big Interview by clicking on the 9 dots in the upper left corner. While you’re in the platform, try out Big Interview for video tutorials and challenging virtual mock interviews.
Make an Appointment with a Career Counselor
- We help students with any career related topics in 1:1 appointments. Topic include: major change, cover letter review, job and internship search strategy, interviewing (including mock interviews), grad school application process and personal statement review, evaluating and negotiating salaries, LinkedIn profile and portfolio review, and more! We ask that you use the Big Resume platform to get detailed feedback on your resume. If you want further assistance, please go to Drop-in (see below) to get your resume reviewed by a counselor.
- To schedule an appointment with either a Freshman Focus Team Career Counselor (for first year freshmen) or College Specialist Counselor (2nd years on including newer Transfers), please log-in to your Cal Poly Portal, click on MustangJOBS>Counseling Appts>Request New Appointment and follow the prompts.
- You get to choose the modality: in-person (Building 124) or virtual (via Zoom).

Attend our Career Readiness Workshops
- We offer many workshops (most are 50 minutes long) on career-related topics such as Writing Effective Resume & Cover Letters, Preparing for the Career Fairs, How to Prepare for Interviews, LinkedIn for Beginners, Networking (including how to use LinkedIn), Navigating the Job and Internship Search, Negotiating Salary and Evaluating Offers, and much more.
- Engineering Change of Majorworkshops will take place on Friday, January 16 from 11:10 am to 12:00 pm at Career Services (124-117) and on Wednesday, February 4 from 11:10 am to 12:00 pm at Career Services (124-117).

- Information Sessions are a great way to get to know an organization and their opportunities.
