Have you ever used a Roomba or food delivery robot? Are you curious about how these robots are developed? Robots are increasingly entering human-centered spaces and interacting with people on a daily basis. In CPE 470/479, we will explore how robots can perceive and model humans and how they can communicate and collaborate with people. You will develop skills to evaluate user needs, design behaviors for robots, develop robotics systems to interact and collaborate with people, and analyze people’s interactions with them.
The course is open to students of any major. Students should be comfortable coding, ideally with some familiarity with Python.
