We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the Faculty in Residence (FIR) role for the upcoming academic year!
This unique partnership between the Residential Student Experience and Academic Affairs enhances student learning, connection and belonging within our residential communities. Faculty in this live-in role build meaningful relationships with students and create inclusive, engaged and supportive living-learning environments.
Minimum Requirements:
- Full-time faculty appointment at Cal Poly
- Ability to live on campus and provide a visible, accessible and supportive presence in the residential community
- Interest in equity-centered programming, mentoring or advising
Appointment Term
- Three-year appointment with the option to renew for up to two additional years (maximum five years total), contingent on annual review
- Expected time commitment: 5–10 hours per week
