Neuroinclusive Teaching Summer Institute

Start your neuroinclusive teaching journey at UConn’s Neuroinclusive Teaching Summer Institute (NTSI) for STEM faculty!

It’s time to move beyond accommodations and start building more inclusive learning environments in STEM — classrooms where neurodiversity is valued as part of our full creative potential, and where all students feel that they belong. It all starts with recognizing students’ strengths and the ways that they can contribute to innovation in STEM by bringing their unique ways of thinking and experiencing the world to problem solving.

Join us in person, on May 19-20, 2025 for an energizing, one-and-a-half-day workshop at the UConn, Storrs campus. The NTSI will prepare faculty across STEM disciplines to support and empower neurodiverse students in the classroom, sharing best practices and insights learned from UConn Civil & Environmental Engineering’s Revolutionizing Engineering Departments (NSF:RED) project, “Beyond Accommodation: Leveraging Neurodiversity for Engineering Innovation.”

Showcasing the potential of a strengths-based approach to dramatically transform teaching and learning, we apply a set of faculty-created standards for neuroinclusive teaching as we consider practical ways to enhance engagement, motivation and belonging for all students.  Registration discounts are available for teams of four or more.
