The CivX – Enhanced Urban Communication Networks Challenge seeks innovative ideas for advanced networking solutions to build resilient and adaptable urban systems for smart cities of the future.

Blue Clarity is excited to announce a $20,000 prize for the second challenge in our Smart Cities series. All information for the challenge can be found at the challenge website here.

Key focus areas for the challenge are Operational Resilience, Energy Resilience, Support for Smart Infrastructure and Scalability & Security. Some example technology areas are:

·  Next-Generation Communication Technologies (Private 5G, LEO Satellite Communications, Holographic Communications)

·  Autonomous & Connected Systems (V2X Autonomous Systems, Swarm Intelligence)

·  Immersive & Interactive Technologies (AR & VR)

·  Smart Infrastructure & Sensing (Smart Lighting, IoT Sensor Networks)

·  Geospatial & Data-Driven Insights (High-Precision Mapping)

Submissions consist of two components — a 5-page white paper and a 2-3 minute video —due by April 2. The top five semi-finalists will pitch their solutions for a chance to win the $20,000 prize at a virtual event in April. The winner will also be invited to a Winner’s Circle event in Rome, New York, at the Griffiss Institute campus.

The event is sponsored by the Griffiss Institute & NIST.
