Civil and environmental engineering Professor Anurag Pande was selected as a STEM-NET faculty fellow for the 2024-25 academic year.
The goal of the grant is to support and encourage the development of a strong program of research or scholarship by faculty members in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. STEM-NET Fellows awards help fund activity that supports the submission of large external grants aligned with STEM-NET’s mission and help further the vision.
As part of his role as a faculty fellow, Pande is seeking STEM faculty members interested in initiating or participating in collaborative research efforts and proposal development.
These initiatives may focus on technical research, pedagogy, outreach and more. Pande also plans to support STEM faculty engaged in community-based pedagogy and research through his role as the faculty liaison for service learning at Cal Poly.
The fellowship adds to a list of accolades Pande has received over his years at Cal Poly including Campus Faculty Sustainability Champion (2024) and Educator of the Year Award by the Institute of Transportation Engineers Western District at their annual meeting, which was held in Sacramento, California, earlier this year.
