Career Services is hosting a number of upcoming events!
Transfer Career Day
This event will help transfer students hit the ground running to prepare for their internship search. The third annual Transfer Career Day event will take place on Friday, September 27 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in the ATL (Bldg. 7).
Five workshops will be offered throughout the day: resumes (10:10 am), interviewing (11:10 am), preparing for the fall career fairs (12:10 pm), building a stellar LinkedIn profile (1:10 pm), and networking for career success (2:10 pm).
A networking mixer will take place from 3:00 to 4:00 pm where transfer students can practice their networking skills with peers and campus allies.

Fall Career Fairs
The Computing & Analytics Career Fair and Fall Career Fair are an amazing opportunity to network with employers for internships, co-ops, and full-time career positions. For the most up-to-date list of companies and opportunities, login to MustangJobs and find the Career Fair you want to attend under Events, filter by Type>Career Fairs.
Computing Career Fair:
In-Person: Tuesday, October 8, 4-7 pm at the Rec Center Main Gym (Bldg. 43)
Fall Career Fair:
In-Person: Wednesday/Thursday, October 9 and 10 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Rec Center Gyms (Bldg. 43)

Student + Employer Diversity Networking Event
- This casual event for underrepresented students to connect with over 30 employers will take place on Wednesday, October 9 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the 1901 Marketplace Pavillion (Building 191A).
- The event provides an informal place to practice your networking skills and is a great way to learn about diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts at different workplaces, and connect with employers from diverse backgrounds.
- The first 50 students will be entered in a drawing for the grand prize of Apple Airpods
- Professional headshots will be available for those interested

Get Help With a Career Counselor in an Appointment
- We help students with any career related topics in 1:1 appointments. Topic include: major change, resume and cover letter review, job and internship search strategy, interviewing (including mock interviews), grad school application process and personal statement review, evaluating and negotiating salaries, LinkedIn profile and portfolio review, and more!
- To schedule an appointment with either a Freshman Focus Team Career Counselor (for first year freshmen) or College Specialist Counselor (2nd years on including new Transfers), please log-in to your Cal Poly Portal, click on MustangJOBS>Counseling Appts & Drop-in>Request New Appointment and follow the prompts.
- You get to choose the modality: in-person (Building 124) or virtual (via Zoom).

Virtual Drop-in Hours
- Career Services offers Virtual Drop-in hours via Zoom on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. We can help with any career-related topic (15 minutes maximum if others are waiting).

- Various workshops and events are hosted by Bailey College of Science and Mathematics, Office of Student Research, Graduate Education, College of Engineering, BEACoN Research Mentors, and Career Services.

- We offer many workshops (most are 50 minutes long) on career-related topics such as Writing Effective Resume & Cover Letters, Preparing for the Career Fairs, How to Prepare for Interviews, LinkedIn for Beginners, Networking (including how to use LinkedIn), Navigating the Job and Internship Search, Negotiating Salary and Evaluating Offers, and much more.
- Engineering Change of Major workshops will take place on October 17 from 2:10 to 3:00 pm at Career Services (124-117) and on October 25 from 11:10 am to 12:00 pm via Zoom.
