On any given day, the College of Engineering’s diverse and dedicated faculty members produce significant research contributions through peer-reviewed journal articles, scholarly books and book chapters. Learn more about those contributions in this month’s Faculty Research Roundup. If you would like your work to be included in a future faculty roundup, submit your research here.
Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
Duha Ali, assistant professor of industrial and manufacturing engineering, and her cohorts recently published their research, “ChatGPT in Teaching and Learning: A Systematic Review.” The research focuses on the increasing use of artificial intelligence in education and how this has raised questions about the implementation of ChatGPT for teaching and learning.
Ali worked alongside Yasin Fatemi, Elahe Boskabadi, Mohsen Nikfar, Jude Ugwuoke and Haneen Ali to conduct and publish this research.
Mechanical Engineering
Mohammad Noori, emeritus professor of mechanical engineering, and his cohorts recently published the following research:
- “A Study on the Effects of Cementless Total Knee Arthroplasty Implants’ Surface Morphology via Finite Element Analysis”
- “Using Biopolymers as Anti-Washout Admixtures Under Water Concreting”
- “Experimental Study on the Progressive Collapse Resistance of Emulative Precast Concrete Beam-Column Subassemblies with Various Anchorage Details”
- “Forecasting and Characterization of Fiberglass Based on Experimental Modal Analysis and YUKI-Enhanced Gradient Boosting”
