Students from the College of Engineering were honored at the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award celebration presented by Dean Amy Fleischer on June 14 in the Advanced Technologies Laboratory.
“The students recognized have shown grit and determination in the face of numerous challenges during their time together at Cal Poly, and I am grateful that we can come together today to celebrate their accomplishments,” Fleischer said.
Christian Honein (computer engineering) and Adam Khan (mechanical engineering) received the Academic Excellence Award. This award is often granted to students with high grade point averages who have participated in special projects or research that exemplify academic excellence.
Alexandra Kuesel (civil engineering) was awarded the Contributions to the Objectives and Public Image of the College. This award honors students who are active in clubs, committees, special projects and activities that represent the college at the regional or state level through competitions or presentations.
Lesley Estrada (mechanical engineering) received the Contributions to the Objectives and Public Image of the University award, which honors students who make outstanding contributions to the university by participating in university-wide organizations, committees and projects.
Emma Caringella (biomedical engineering) was awarded the Service to the Community award. This award honors students who go above and beyond to serve the community through community service and academically-related service outside of what is academically required.
