The city of Monterey is recruiting for the position of Engineering Assistant I/II.
This is a full-time position in the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department.
In this role, under the guidance of a registered engineer, the selected candidate will offer technical assistance by creating project design plans, specifications and cost estimates. They may also take on the responsibilities of a project manager.
Additionally, the Engineering Assistant I/II will oversee improvement projects throughout the planning, design, bidding and construction stages, collaborating with surveyors, design consultants, utilities, permitting agencies, construction inspectors, maintenance crews and other stakeholders who directly support project engineers.
