The American Red Cross has declared a national blood shortage with the lowest number of people giving blood in 20 years, but Cal Poly students can help change that.
Cal Poly’s Red Cross Club will be hosting blood drives at the dorms throughout February to make it convenient for students to donate.
Vitalant, the nonprofit blood drive organization, will be on campus throughout February taking blood donations, and the Cal Poly Red Cross Club is giving a $10 gift card and a free t-shirt to students who donate blood on campus from Feb. 11 to March 2.
Vitalant will be at the dorms at the following times:
Feb. 7 – PCV 2 to 6 p.m.
Feb. 12 – Trinity Hall 2:30 to 6 p.m.
Feb. 15 – Cerro Vista 1:30 to 5 p.m.
Feb. 21 – Sierra Madre 2 to 6 p.m.
Feb. 29 – Yakityutyu 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.
