The Outstanding Staff Award is presented annually by the Office of the President to three staff members who demonstrate service and commitment to the university that truly set them apart. The award is an opportunity for individuals who are admired by their colleagues and who inspire others to be recognized for their efforts in a public and meaningful way.

If you have a colleague in your department or division who fits the eligibility and selection criteria outlined below, please submit a nomination by Jan. 31. The nomination form can be found and submitted on the Human Resources website.

To be eligible, nominees must be permanent, full-time employees of the University, Corporation or ASI who have completed at least three years of employment as of Dec. 31, 2023 (10-month employees are eligible). Employees represented by Bargaining Unit 3 (faculty), former recipients of the award, and student assistants are not eligible.

In order to be considered for the award, an employee should:

  • Be truly dedicated and loyal.

  • Demonstrate a willingness to assist others enthusiastically.
  • Take initiative in making his/her department more efficient and productive.
  • Maintain an excellent relationship with co-workers, faculty members and students.
