Apply Now for the Air Force Summer Faculty Fellowship Program

The Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) is pleased to announce that the Summer Faculty Fellowship Program (SFFP) is accepting applications for FY2024 until Nov. 30 from qualified faculty members and graduate students interested in conducting research at Department of the Air Force (DAF) Research Labs/Centers.

The Department of the Air Force Summer Faculty Fellowship Program offers opportunities for faculty members (i.e., assistant, associate and full professor levels) and graduate students at U.S. colleges and universities to perform high-quality and meaningful research at AFRL Directorates, Air Force Test Centers (AFTC), the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) or the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) during the summer months (May through September) for an 8-to-12 week period. (See Period and Place of Appointment for details).

Research Fellows use the residencies for full-time research in the science, technology, mathematics and engineering fields engaging in challenging research at some of our nation’s most advanced laboratories and facilities. Program information can be found here.

Interested applicants can find detailed instructions regarding eligibility, appointment requirements, the application process, etc., on the website and are encouraged to start applying early. All applicants who wish to obtain an SFFP fellowship must be U.S. citizens (or at some Technical Directorates Dual U.S. Citizens are eligible) at time of application (See Eligibility Information Page for details).

Faculty members are highly encouraged to apply with a graduate student. Faculty members from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) are especially encouraged to apply.
