Register for National Science Foundation Regional Workshop

Dean Alexander Wolf of the Baskin School of Engineering at UC Santa Cruz welcomes colleagues from throughout the Central Coast region to discuss future directions of computing research and hear about updates and current opportunities from Dr. Margaret Martonosi, National Science Foundation (NSF) assistant director for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) and representatives from the CISE team.

The workshop, showcasing NSF support for research and education, is designed for faculty, post-docs and administrators in all disciplines who conduct research in computer science, information science, engineering, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, statistics, mathematics and technology policy.

During the workshop, participants will learn about CISE programs as well as NSF programs such as GRANTED and new offerings from the Technology, Innovation and Partnerships (TIP) Directorate. Representatives from CISE will lead a session on writing NSF program proposals. In addition, Martonosi and her NSF colleagues will be providing a limited number of one-on-one consultations to review specific proposal ideas. Attendees will have the opportunity to network for possible collaborations.
