Public welcome! Cal Poly College of Engineering is hosting hands-on engineering activities as part of National Engineers Week. Engineers Week is a time to celebrate how engineers make a difference in our world; increase public dialogue about the need for engineers and bring engineering to life for kids, educators and parents. Cal Poly Racing Cars and Coffee
Location: Cal Poly Bonderson Plaza
Cal Poly Racing will have the Formula and Baja cars on display with team members to answer questions. Complimentary coffee will be provided.
Innovation Sandbox Laser Cutting Workshop
Location: Cal Poly 192-330
Create a custom coaster using the power of lasers! Students will learn how to laser engrave an image of their choice onto a cork coaster. No experience or equipment required. A computer with Adobe Illustrator is optional for students who want to learn more.
Thumb Molding Workshop
Location: Cal Poly Bonderson Plaza
Cal Poly’s EMPOWER club will help you create a replica of your own thumb following a similar process used for amputees when they need to be fitted for a prosthetic limb.
Saturday, Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Cal Poly Power and Energy Society: “Spark your Curiosity” from 10 to 11 a.m.

Join the Cal Poly Power and Energy Society in a range of activities, which include turning a light bulb on using circuits, building with snap circuits and experimenting with renewable energy sources. By the end of the event, all our attendants will be electrical engineers in training!
Cal Poly Design Build Fly and ADCC Paper Airplane Tournament from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

DBF and ADCC will be hosting a paper airplane competition! We will be giving a short presentation on Aerospace Engineering to help improve plane designs. There will be lots of opportunities to talk with current engineering students about college, hands-on learning and extra-curricular and club activities.

Morro Bay Wind Farm and Trivia
Join us for a brief presentation about the upcoming Morro Bay Wind Farm and the impact it will have on the SLO community, as well as what students and community members can do to get involved. Afterwards, there will be a Kahoot! trivia game about sustainability and renewable energy, complete with prizes for the winners!
