Congratulations to Angela Simon (Environmental Engineering, ’86), who was named as one of this year’s Honored Alumni.
The Honored Alumni Award is the highest honor bestowed upon Cal Poly alumni by the university’s Alumni Association and was established more than 50 years ago. The award recognizes alumni from the university’s academic colleges.
Simon is an advocate of the College of Engineering and Cal Poly Athletics. A former softball player, Simon has created a scholarship to support female athletes in the College of Engineering.
She currently serves as an advisor to the board at Western Allied Mechanical and is the president and co-founder of the Heavy Metal Summer Experience, a summer camp opportunity for high school youth to learn about trades.
Simon is also a member of Cal Poly’s Engineering Advisory Board and the Elon University Engineering Advisory Board.
