CENG Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion: Growing, Learning and Celebrating Together

Call for proposals! Deadline extended to April 15!

You are invited to submit a proposal to the first annual CENG day of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion: Growing, Learning and Celebrating Together on Friday, May 13, 2022.  This event is meant as an opportunity to learn and share accomplishments and best practices for integrating justice, equity, diversity and inclusion into our daily lives as students, scholars, teachers and staff.

Please consider submitting one of the following through this form or at https://bit.ly/3vGGH5x:

1)  a proposal for a 30-45 minute workshop related to best practices for integrating JEDI topics into CENG curriculum and academic life.  Do you have a class exercise, research project, mentoring practice, pedagogy or practice that you would like to share with other CENG faculty, students and staff?  Submit a one paragraph proposal describing your workshop proposal, include a title, timing and any necessary materials.

2) Lighting talk proposal: (2-5 minutes) talk related to activities, events, practices etc. of student clubs, classes, research, etc., that highlight a successful integration/benefit of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in engineering.  Students, and representatives from student organizations (clubs and IRAs) clubs are especially invited to share information about successful events and activities. Submit a title and 2-5 sentence description of your talk (include a goal or main idea).

3) Have another idea for an activity, or keynote speaker we should include in our day of learning and celebration? Let us know.  Include a short description and any other necessary information to make your idea a reality (i.e., timing, goal, necessary materials etc.).
