Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Election

As spring quarter begins, staying engaged as a community is more important than ever. The annual Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Election occurs every spring quarter and will determine who will represent the student body for the following academic year. The elections for ASI president and ASI Board of Directors will take place virtually from April 20 at 9 a.m. to April 21 at 9 a.m. During this time, students can access the ballot on the ASI website or through their Cal Poly Portal.

ASI Student Government leaders advocate for change, support, and resources to create positive contributions both on- and off-campus. The ASI president represents the general student body and acts as the official representative of ASI to the Cal Poly administration and the general public. The Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from each academic college that serve as the official voice of students regarding student advocacy efforts and ASI corporate activity.

ASI is committed to making the 2022-23 ASI Annual Spring Elections function in new and effective ways; this includes a virtual candidate meet-and-greet and a live-streamed ASI presidential debate.

File for Write-In Candidacy

Are you interested in getting involved in ASI Student Government? File as a write-in candidate for ASI president or Board of Directors. A write-in candidate is a student who takes action to run in the election and did not file a candidate packet within the candidacy deadline. Write-in candidates can complete the candidate filing forms for ASI president or the ASI Board of Directors on the ASI Recruitment and Elections website and submit their intent to run in the upcoming election up to 24 hours after the polls close by Friday, April 22 at 9 a.m.

Write-in candidates will not have their names on the ballot and will have to be written in on election day. Visit ASI Recruitment and Elections for more information.

The students currently serving on Student Government have been actively involved in the discussions with the administration during this period of campus-wide change — and our next leaders will continue to uphold that responsibility and represent the voice of the student body.
