6th Annual Social Justice Teach In

The Cal Poly College of Liberal Arts 6th annual Social Justice Teach In will be held on February 17 this year in a mostly virtual hybrid format. As in past years we have an excellent slate of speakers from across the university and beyond. The proposals we received this year were numerous and exciting and we are looking forward to the insightful discussions and reflections on these topics long after the Teach In!
We hope you’ll join us for such presentations as:

  • “Anti-Racism Response: Educator Perspectives on Culturally Responsive Practices”
  • “Healing isn’t Linear: Centering the Voices of Marginalized Survivors”
  • “Queering Relationships”
  • “The Indigenous Kitchen: Stories and Recipes for Healing and Wellness”
  • “Nuestra Ciencia: Opening Opportunities in Science”
  • “Activist Art Making”
  • “Enhancing Health and Well-Being: Outreach to Latinx Students at Cal Poly”
  • “Anti-Racist Pedagogies in Architecture”
  • “Defining Multiracial College Students: How Mixedness is Measured in Higher Education”
  • “Introduction to Disability Allyship”

….and many, many more! Registration is now open, so please click to view the full schedule here.

We hope you’ll join us for the in person Keynote at 6pm that day as well! Christine Wong Yap (she/they; visual artist and social practitioner) will be giving a talk with the title: How I Keep Looking Up: Art and the Social Practice of Belonging and Resilience.
