The library will re-open on Sept. 13. The library homepage has a link to the latest information on hours and services.

OneSearch update

Over the summer, OneSearch (our library search) received a significant update. The site is working great. If you have linked to things in OneSearch on your syllabus or in Canvas, please double check to ensure those links still work. FAQs about these changes

Fall course reserves

Due to staffing shortages, the library will only have online course reserves this quarter. If you’d like to request an ebook or other digital item that the library owns be placed on reserve, please submit a reserves request. You can also request an ebook be purchased for your class using the same form.

Research support/course instruction

I have been working virtually since last March (as have many of you) and while I will be back on campus, I am not planning to do in person instruction. I am happy to pay a virtual visit to your classes to give workshops on research, literature reviews, and other relevant topics. Email me at salester@calpoly.edu to request. Students can schedule to meet with me using our virtual scheduling system at https://schedule.lib.calpoly.edu/appointments/lester.

New journal of interest

In the spring we added the journal Engineering Studies to our collection. If you aren’t familiar with it, it’s a great resource for articles on teaching and research in engineering education. It also has a lot of excellent research on diversity, equity, and inclusion in engineering. Read more about it on the journal website.

How to reach me

I can always be reached via email at salester@calpoly.edu. If you’d like to meet, you can email me to set-up a time, or schedule a meeting via our virtual scheduling system at https://schedule.lib.calpoly.edu/appointments/lester.
