BLUE MARBLE WEEK IS A CELEBRATION OF EARTH’S FIRST SELFIE. OF THE FIRST WHOLE-EARTH IMAGE FROM SPACE.
This is credited with the start of the global environmentalist movement. It sparked an appreciation for climate change (and climate-science studies). This photo made people understand that we – all of humanity and every person who has lived, ever, – are riding on one big spaceship traveling through space and orbiting a star (the sun). It was a profound moment when we realized that we’d figured out how to climb down from the trees, across the savannah, and then mastered the technology (energy, computing, communications, biotech, materials, robotics), mastered the social, political, and economic forces – enough to climb not to the trees again, but to the heavens. That’s why this simple picture matters, but cause it shows our history and our potential.
As all of our events will be, this program is boxed between ‘the ground, Earth, to the Moon, and from now, 2020, to 2035. This isn’t a rolling 15 years; it’s a hard-stop at the end of 2035. We have an immediate focus on 2022, 2025, and an emphasis on Workforce, Economics, Economy, Jobs, Infrastructure, and Real-world-purchase-orderable hardware as the building blocks of this CisLunar Econosphere.
