You may be eligible to apply for an EPA Source Reduction Assistance (SRA) Grant.  SRA grants fund innovative source reduction approaches (also known as “pollution prevention” or “P2”). P2 means reducing or eliminating pollutants from entering any waste stream or otherwise released into the environment prior to recycling, treatment, or disposal.

The SRA grants are similar to the previously circulated Pollution Prevention (P2) grants, but the SRA Grants are open to a wider pool of applicants, provide for technical assistance beyond just businesses; only require a 5% match; and, focus on a learning concept, as opposed to fixing an environmental problem using a well-established methods (developing new P2 technical assistance methods through a) research; b) investigation; c) experiments; d) education; e) training; f) studies; and/or g) demonstration of innovative techniques).

Specifically, EPA requests proposals in alignment with five National Emphasis Areas:

  • Food and Beverage Manufacturing and Processing
  • Chemical Manufacturing and Formulation
  • Automotive Manufacturing and Maintenance
  • Aerospace Product & Parts Manufacturing and Maintenance
  • Metal Manufacturing
