#EngineersShowUp (Web: EngineersShowUp.org; Twitter: @EngShowUp) is hosting a week of action during February 23rd-29th in which you are invited to take part! #EngineersShowUp is driven by a group of engineering educators, students, staff, and adjacent advocates who want to challenge the stereotype of the apathetic engineer and show up in solidarity with one another to challenge inequitable cultures in engineering. We want to show the world that #engineersshowup against racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, and other forms of oppression. WEPAN, NAMEPA and the ASEE Committee on Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity are partnering with us in this effort.

Since this past Spring, we have been meeting regularly and formulating what it might look like for engineers to disrupt the status quo, to create infrastructures for sharing resources and strategies to resist various injustices, and to build awareness within our communities.

During the week of February 23rd – 29th 2020, we will be organizing to take concerted actions across various campuses and communities to raise awareness via tweets, reading groups, classroom activities, teach-ins, etc. Follow our organizing efforts or get involved by going to www.engineersshowup.org,  following us on Twitter @EngShowUp, or emailing roar.for.change.at.scale@gmail.com.

You can also find a more in-depth description and description of the basis of this work via an editorial in JEE on the efforts, which can be found here.
