An Inclusive Environment

As we start a new year and a new quarter we want to re-reemphasize our commitment to making the College of Engineering an inclusive environment dedicated to the principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) .  As our college diversity statement reads:

“The Cal Poly College of Engineering fosters an environment based in love, empathy and respect where all are supported, energized and empowered. Opportunities to contribute exist for all and a broad range of voices and experiences are necessary as we co-create our future.  We are developing an inclusive community where everyone can be their own unique selves.”

The reports from last spring’s Cal Poly Experience (CPX) listening sessions and campus wide survey are available online.

As part of our process to improve our inclusivity, we hosted one dialogue, and will host a second one on Friday, February 14, from 1:00- 3:00 in the ATL (Building 007).  We will be using outcomes from these dialogues to guide the development of our diversity and inclusivity action plan.

The Cal Poly College of Engineering understands there has been an enormous amount of turmoil and transition due to Coronavirus (COVID-19). As we continue offering support to our students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends, we also continue providing critical updates as well as college highlights. Ours is a college full of creative and bright engineers and staff. For more information on COVID-19 visit the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website. For more information on how Cal Poly is responding to COVID-19, visit the Cal Poly Coronavirus website Coronavirus website.
