Cal Poly researchers now have a “week” for them!  The Office of Research and Economic Development is hosting a series of events on October 21 through 23 to provide support and enhance collaboration for research at Cal Poly.

On October 21 from 3:10pm to 5:00pm, Research Lightning Talks will feature fast-paced brief 4-minute presentations by research faculty looking for collaborators from departments all over campus.  The talks will be followed by a networking session with beverages and hors d’ouevres. This event will be held in the University Union (65), Room 220.

The Research Resource Fair will give faculty, staff, and student researchers the opportunity to meet with research administration, grants development, and sponsored programs staff to learn about support programs, funding opportunities, compliance processes, and intellectual property protection.  While getting their questions answered, attendees can enter a drawing to win an iPad and other prizes! This event will be held in the Fisher Science (33), Room 285, on Tuesday, October 22, from 2:00-5:00pm, and refreshments will be provided.

Researchers seeking information on how to get started with funded research or improve rejected proposals should attend the Grants 2.0 Workshop on October 23 from 9:10-11:00am. Representatives from the Office of Research and Economic Development and Hanover Research will present information on grant administration, funders and funding, and proposal development. This event will be held in the University Union (65), Room 220.
