Calling for Proposals for the Global Teacher-Scholar Grant

The International Center is pleased to announce a new Global Teacher-Scholar Grant.

The grant is available due to generous funding from an anonymous donor committed to expanding opportunities and access to international education and scholarship for students and faculty.

Grants of up to $4000 will be awarded for use in 2023.

Global Teacher-Scholar Grant funding is available to support one or more of the following objectives:

  • To enhance Learn by Doing opportunities abroad in existing faculty-led Global Programs.
  • To enhance research and scholarship opportunities with existing international partners or exchanges.
  • To develop new learning opportunities abroad in fields of study or regions not currently offered (review existing programs for reference).
  • To develop new international partnerships or exchanges for research and scholarship opportunities in fields of study or regions not currently established (review existing international partners for reference).
  • To increase globally focused Learn by Doing opportunities on campus (e.g., international speakers, performers, student research collaborators, etc.).

Full-time instructional faculty members who have taught at Cal Poly for at least two consecutive academic years are invited to submit a proposal (lecturers included). Note: A faculty member is eligible to receive only one grant.

Preference will be given to:

  • Proposals that provide representation from each college.
  • Proposals that include commitment of support from other sources.
  • Proposals for travel and activities that would utilize funding before Jan. 1, 2024.

Submit proposals on the Faculty Opportunities page by April 15, 2023.

Award notifications will be made by May 15, 2023.
