Dr. Marcello Romano, chair of astrodynamics at the Technical University of Munich, will give a presentation on Dynamics, Guidance & Control of Autonomous Orbital Systems: From Conception to Flight Experimentation.
The presentation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 12 in 197-104.
The presentation will offer an overview of selected past and present research efforts by Romano and his collaborators, spanning analysis, laboratory and on-orbit experimentation. Research projects will be highlighted, which focus on automatic control, spaceflight mechanics, orbital robotics, space systems engineering and space-based sustainability.
Dr. Marcello Romano is an Italian-American academic researcher, educator and inventor specializing in astronautical engineering and space technology. Since Jan. 2025, he has served as full professor and head chair of astrodynamics at the Technical University of Munich.
