Fire protection engineers use science and technology to protect people, property and businesses from destructive fires. They analyze how buildings are used, how fires start, how fires grow, and how fire and smoke affects people, buildings and property. Fire protection engineers can come from any undergrad, although most of our FPE students are mechanical or civil engineering majors. If you are interested in learning more about fire protection engineering or the FPE masters program at Cal Poly please fill out this google form to join our mailing list!
