You are invited to participate in a research study examining how engineering students think about sociotechnical dimensions of engineering practice. This study is part of a research project titled Charting the Developmental Sociotechnical Thinking in Engineering Students and Professionals. We are recruiting students from all grade levels to ensure we have a representative cross-section of engineering experience.

To participate, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Be enrolled as an engineering student of any major at Cal Poly.

    If you participate:
  • You will complete a short screening survey.
  • Selected participants will take part in an approximately 45-minute Zoom interview.
  • The interview will be audio-recorded.
  • You will receive a $25 Amazon gift card.

Participation is voluntary. Your decision will not affect your academic standing, relationship with instructors, or access to services. If you are interested, please complete this short survey: Charting Sociotechnical Thinking: Interview Screening Survey – Fill out form

If selected, we will contact you to schedule an interview. If you have questions, feel free to contact blutz@calpoly.edu

    Thank you for considering participation.
