Engineering In Action

Learn by Doing in Practice

At Cal Poly, engineering education is built around application. Students engage in labs, design projects and industry collaboration from their first semester, applying theory as they learn it and developing the skills employers demand.

Cal Poly mechanical and electrical engineering students deploy a device they have spent the academic year designing and building to harness renewable energy from the ocean.

Our Mission and Vision

To provide an excellent Learn by Doing Engineering and Computer Science Education that empowers all our students to innovate, design and create sustainable solutions to real-world challenges.

The Cal Poly College of Engineering will be nationally recognized for its rapidly diversifying student population and unique, inclusive Learn by Doing educational and applied research experiences.
