College of Engineering Strategic Priorities
Our strategic plan sets priorities for student success, research and partnerships. It builds on Learn by Doing by expanding access to meaningful projects and strengthening support for students and faculty. The plan also focuses on improving outcomes across the college and preparing graduates to take on complex challenges.
Expand Learn by Doing opportunities and spaces, with more cross-disciplinary experiences that connect coursework with issues such as ethics, equity, data literacy and systems thinking.
Increase support for faculty and student research through courses, projects and other opportunities that connect teaching with discovery.
Identify barriers that affect graduation rates and take steps to improve outcomes for all students.
Provide clear degree pathways that help transfer students graduate within two years.
Make measurable progress in building a college community that better reflects the diversity of California.
Foster a college culture where policies and practices support equitable success and every member of the community feels valued.
Expand opportunities for students to build professional skills and make industry and alumni connections.
Increase funded opportunities for faculty and staff to pursue professional development.
