Fall Career Fairs
  • ​The Fall Career Fair and Business Career Fair offer amazing opportunities to network with employers for internships, co-ops, and full-time career positions. For the most up-to-date list of companies and opportunities, please login to MustangJobs and find the Career Fair you want to attend under Events, filter by Type>Career Fairs (viewable starting 8/26/26).
  • Fall Career Fair: Wednesday/Thursday, September 16 and 17 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Rec Center Gyms (Bldg. 43)
  • Business Career Fair: Friday, September 18, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Rec Center Main Gym (Bldg. 43)

  • "Preparing for the Career Fairs" workshops will take place on September 9 and 14. For more details, login to MustangJOBS>Events>Type/Workshops. 
Get Help with a Career Counselor in an Appointment
  • We help students with any career related topics in 1:1 appointments. ​Topic include: major change, cover letter review, job and internship search strategy, interviewing (including mock interviews), grad school application process and personal statement review, evaluating and negotiating salaries, LinkedIn profile and portfolio review, and more! We ask that you use the Big Resume platform to get detailed feedback on your resume. If you want further assistance, please go to Drop-in (see below) to get your resume reviewed by a counselor.
  • To schedule an appointment with a CENG Liaison Career Counselor (Monica Contreras-Suarez/Noyce majors; Tammy Martin and Fabian Quintero/non-Noyce majors) or any career counselor, please log-in to your Cal Poly Portal, click on MustangJOBS>Counseling Appts>Request New Appointment, select the Primary Counseling Appointment Topic and complete other prompts. Be sure to choose San Luis Obispo for the location.
  • You get to choose the modality: in-person (Building 124) or virtual (via Zoom).
  • If you need immediate help and can't wait to be seen via an appointment, please go to Drop-in hours (see below). 
Get Help In-Person and Virtual Drop-in Hours
  • Career Services offers In-Person Drop-in hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:00 to 4:30 pm (Bldg. 124, Room 117) and Virtual Drop-in hours via Zoom on Mondays & Fridays from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. We can help with any career-related topic (15 minutes maximum if others are waiting).
  • This is a great opportunity to get immediate help!

Attend our Career-Readiness Workshops
  • We offer many workshops (most are 50 minutes long) on career-related topics such as Writing Effective Resume & Cover Letters, Preparing for the Career Fairs, How to Prepare for Interviews, LinkedIn for Beginners, Networking (including how to use LinkedIn), Navigating the Job and Internship Search, Negotiating Salary and Evaluating Offers, and much more. 
  • Engineering Change of Major workshops will take place on Tuesday, September 15 from 10:00 to 10:50 am and on Wednesday, October 28 from 11:00 am to 11:50 am at Career Services (124-117).
  • To see the full line-up of workshops and dates/times for each, login to MustangJOBS, click on the Events tab, then filter by Type and select Workshops.  Most workshops are in-person, but some are virtual on Zoom. 
Information Sessions
  • Information Sessions are a great way to get to know an organization and their opportunities.  
  • Please log on to MustangJobs to see a list of the companies that will be conducting an Information Session this quarter. Click on Events tab, then filter by Type>Information Sessions. Some information sessions will be hosted in-person on campus while others are hosted virtually.
