Applicants must meet NSF eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship or permanent-resident status. The 2026 application deadlines run October 19–23, depending on field; reference letters are due Oct.16.
Eligible applicants include current undergraduate seniors planning a research-based STEM graduate degree, bachelor’s degree holders who have not yet enrolled in graduate school, eligible joint bachelor’s–master’s students, and first-year graduate students in their first graduate degree program.
