Applications Now Live for the Apple Hardware Technical Challenge

Students working at tables in the distance with the engineering 192 building in the background
At Apple, how something is built matters as much as what is being built. We obsess over every detail of the customer experience, from the first interaction to the last. We champion accessibility and inclusion, because the best products are built for everyone. And we build with the environment in mind, designing for efficiency and a world we're proud to leave better than we found it. This challenge is your opportunity to bring those values to life — through the solutions you design and the decisions you make along the way.

We care about your process, not just your conclusion. Show us how you think — how you weigh trade-offs, question your assumptions and arrive at an answer you believe in. Your reasoning tells us as much as the solution itself. Bring us along on that journey, because the way you get there is part of what makes the result extraordinary.

The winning entries will be recognized with a $5,000 scholarship.

Eligibility

This challenge is open to all current college students in the United States who will have completed their freshman year by the summer of 2026 — that is, rising sophomores, juniors or seniors. Family members of Apple employees are not eligible.
