Collaborative Autonomous Aircraft Project
The Collaborative Autonomous Aircraft Project (CAAP) partners with Northrop Grumman and Cal Poly Pomona to design, manufacture and test autonomous vehicles. Throughout the academic year, multidisciplinary teams apply engineering principles to develop unmanned, electric, autonomous vehicles capable of completing a defined mission. Members gain hands-on experience in vehicle design, manufacturing, testing and systems integration while presenting their progress and results directly to Northrop Grumman engineers. Later in the year, CAAP members visit Northrop Grumman facilities to present their work, demonstrate their vehicles and tour professional engineering environments. The club is especially suited to students in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, though students from all majors are welcome.
