Astronautics Concentration
Program Overview
The Astronautics concentration focuses on the systems that operate beyond Earth. Build on the Aerospace Engineering core with coursework in orbital mechanics, spaceflight propulsion, spacecraft attitude dynamics and control, electrical systems and space environments. A two-part spacecraft design senior project brings those areas together as you develop a spacecraft concept. Technical electives give you room to pursue related aerospace topics.
Learning Outcomes
- Analyze orbits, spacecraft motion and space environments.
- Apply propulsion, attitude control and electrical-system principles to spacecraft systems.
- Evaluate how spacecraft subsystems work together.
- Contribute to a spacecraft design through a systems engineering process.
Explore the Curriculum
Study orbital mechanics, spaceflight propulsion, spacecraft attitude dynamics and control, electrical systems and space environments. In the two-part senior project, bring these systems together in a spacecraft design.
