Join Safer for Take Back the Night

Join Safer for Sexual Assault Action Month (SAAM) and Safer’s 25th Anniversary through our campaign: Rooted in Community. These last two years, we have seen an immense need for community connectedness – and we have been cultivating that environment throughout April’s events. We are thrilled to announce that we will be culminating this campaign with Take Back the Night

Join us on Thursday, April 28th, from 6-8 pm in the University Union Plaza for an empowering evening to recognize the strength and resilience of survivors. Take Back the Night is an international movement against sexual violence, with its roots in San Luis Obispo since the 1980s. It has been three years since our last in-person Take Back the Night – we are thrilled to have you join us again! The event will include live music by Couch Dog, free food for the first 100 attendees, a local resource fair, survivor healing corners, community art installations, a survivor speak out, a solidarity march, and a candlelight vigil. We encourage you to show your support and join us for a night dedicated to uplifting survivors.
