Flex Your Right to Vote

ASI Student Government is excited to introduce this year’s voter registration campaign, Flex Your Right. The purpose of this initiative is to ensure Cal Poly students exercise their right to vote and stay civically engaged in the community and country.

As a part of the Flex Your Right campaign, Student Government is participating in a statewide competition led by the secretary of state’s office called the California Student Vote Project’s Ballot Bowl. Cal Poly is challenged to compete with 45 other colleges and universities in the 2020 Ballot Bowl and register the most Cal Poly students to vote in the 2020 general election. Cal Poly won this competition in 2018 by registering over 3,000 Mustangs to vote — let’s do it again in 2020!

Voter registration is essential in ensuring that the student voice is heard at the local, state, and federal levels. With the upcoming November election, it is especially vital that students become educated and stay active in their communities. Voting is a privilege that many people before us have fought for. Utilize this right and let your voice be heard!

Flex Your Right and register to vote in the 2020 election!
