As spring quarter begins, staying engaged as a community is more important than ever. Annual ASI elections occur every spring quarter and will continue as planned this year. Elections for ASI president and the ASI Board of Directors will take place virtually on April 22 at 9 a.m. through April 23 at 9 a.m. Students can access the ballot on the ASI website or through their Cal Poly Portal. Although this spring quarter will look different, ASI’s commitment to running a fair, equitable, and effective election has not and will not change.

ASI Student Government leaders advocate for change, support, and resources to create positive contributions both on and off campus. The ASI president represents the general student body and acts as the official representative of ASI to the Cal Poly administration and the general public. The Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from each academic college that serve as the official voice of students regarding student advocacy efforts and ASI corporate activity.

ASI is committed to making the 2020–21 annual spring elections function in new and effective ways. This includes a virtual candidate meet and greet as well as a live streamed ASI presidential debate.

It is important now more than ever to elect leaders who will advocate for students as we transition back into our day-to-day operations in the coming months. The students currently serving within Student Government have been at the forefront of the discussions with administration in this period of change across campus, and the leaders for next year are essential to continuing to represent the voice of the student body.
