Cal Poly's QL+ Lab makes the news

Cal Poly Engineering students are making the news by undertaking projects that aid the disabled and, in particular, public servants and veterans who have been injured in the line of service.

The San Luis Obispo Tribune recently ran a story about Cal Poly's Quality of Life Plus (QL+) laboratory, founded by alumnus Jon Monett (IE '64), which supports student and faculty applied research and projects focused on technology that will improve the lives and mobility of the disabled.

The title of the article printed on October 20, 2009 is:

Cal Poly students partner with Quality of Life Plus to help disabled

A donation from an alumnus's organization will support projects that try to improve mobility for public servants

“I guess you could say my career path — working with alternative energy — is simply about saving the world!

Striving for an energy independent future has big political benefits and developing sources of sustainable energy has huge environmental benefits. Cal Poly's College of Engineering was the perfect place to study alternative energy development.
