	Student Organizations SAE Information on Mini-Baja, Formula SAE and Supermileage. SCE CubeSat The CubeSat Project was developed by California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and Stanford University's Space Systems Development Lab. The CubeSat program creates launch opportunities for universities previously unable to access space. Engineers Without Borders As a student chapter of the non-profit humanitarian organization Engineers Without Borders-USA, we are comitted to partnering with disadvantaged communities to improve their quality of life through implementation of environmentally and economically sustainable engineering projects. While the focus of EWB USA is primarily on international projects, EWB Cal Poly is dedicated to serving our local community as well. Hydrogen Energy Club HEC is a student organization whose goal is to learn and explore the developing field of hydrogen energy production and consumption. Society of Women Engineers The Society of Women Engineers of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, strives to provide a voice for women that will encourage them to achieve their full potential as engineers and as leaders. It is our mission to create engineering opportunities, provide career and scholastic resources, and demonstrate the value of teamwork to all students of this university and of the community. American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Promoting the art, science and practice of mechanical and multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences to our diverse communities in California, and throughout the world. Engineering Student Council The Engineering Student council represents the students within the College of Engineering to the Associated Students Inc.(ASI) , the community, and industry.	Thomas Abia Environmental Engineering 2007 “Our Society of Environmental Engineers chapter was named best in the nation for the sixth straight year.” My future career in wastewater consulting has benefited from my involvement with the Society of Environmental Engineers.
